Labiaplasty
A clitoroplasty is a procedure done on the clitoris (the small, visible part of the female genitalia). This procedure is rare and is performed after many conversations with the surgeon. It can be done on adults, teens and young children. A clitoroplasty may be performed on a patient with congenital adrenal hyperplasia, female pseudohermaphroditism or ambiguous genitalia.
For some women with clitoral hypertrophy and congenital adrenal hyperplasia, arousal can cause clitoral pain. Clitoroplasty can help reduce pain during sexual activity.
The decision to undergo this procedure is a very personal one. The procedure can provide comfort and confidence without sacrificing sexual ability or sensitivity.
